Out of Control
From 2022 - present
Out of Control is an on-going body of work based upon domestic violence, surrounding issues and the impact on the individual and the many. The work aims to communicate through the visual, something which cannot be spoken easily and moreover, continues to be miss-communicated and misunderstood. The aim is to give voice to female survivors and produce something which honours them.
Works take the form of ambiguous yet intimately telling motifs from the domestic setting, composed in such a way as to narrate the subtleties of power play, coercion and control.

This work was born out of lived experience and is informed by significant research. As a socially-engaged and trauma-informed practitioner, I am passionate about working with those impacted by domestic violence to facilitate, support, collaborate and create together.
